DesignInspire runs from 7-9th December 2017 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre(HKCEC), featuring global design and creative projects by more than 220 creative entrepreneurs and elites from 11 countries and regions. DesignInspire Exhibition Hong Kong emphasises on placing people foremost and aim to change our lives for the better.
The inaugural of DesignInspire happened on the 7th of December. It features several thematic zones from various urbanovators! Supported by the Innovation and Technology commission, the thematic pavilion “Urbanovation” showcases designers exploring the integration of creative design ideas into urban life.
Italy – The partner country for DesignInspire
Featuring “Italy Makes A Difference”, partner country Italy presents the Italian architect Dario Curatolo.
“Design is the ability to combine beauty and functionality, the capacity to transform a concept into an object; an idea into a shape”, says Mr. Curatolo who has served as art director for prominent design -based projects, including the art direction for the Italian pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2012.
Events to look out for at DesignInnovate
There are a number of creativity-inspiring events at this exhibition. Some of them include:
- INNOTALKS seminars and panel discussions to explore the hot-button issues, global design trends, etc. by experts.
- TEDx Hong Kong stages “Now You See Me” conference at DesignInspire
- DIY workshops for computer coding, architectural design, ceramic or 3D prosthetic, glass engraving, illustration design and assembling Quartz movement watch.

The Hong Kong Creative Force pavilion showcases a series of local designs and brands that combines practicality, aesthetics, lifestyle, commercial and design elements.
